I am passionate about helping my clients to reduce both personal and workplace stress

My name is Dr Sonia Russell, and I believe that education in the classroom is important. However, I also believe that ‘education’ generally reaches beyond the boundaries of the classroom, and is one of the most important tools that a person can receive. Amongst other things, it teaches you how to face and overcome challenges so that you can continue to grow personally and professionally.

As an educator, I recognised that stress and mental health issues which remain unresolved can lead to serious ill health. As a result, during my many years teaching and lecturing in secondary and adult education, I chose to qualify, in addition, as a mental awareness, health and wellbeing coach, mentor and trainer.

I established Leap to Health, based in Inverness, Scotland, because I am passionate about helping my clients to reduce both personal and workplace stress. I use the knowledge, and skills gained from my different roles in education and stress management to support, encourage and coach my clients who are seeking to make changes so that they may obtain and maintain a healthier lifestyle.

Drawing on my experiences, and the purposeful changes I have made in my own life, my vision and desire are to work with you in order that you might also achieve a sense of positivity.

In order to help you make those important lifestyle changes, my wellness practice focuses on mental health awareness, stress management, health and wellbeing.

The workshops and training that I deliver comprise, for example, motivational goal-setting; coping with mid-life; relaxation techniques; building resilience, and mental wellbeing in the workplace. Training courses can be adapted upon request.

My qualifications include a Doctorate in Education (EdD), in addition to Accredited and Certified Diplomas in Mental Health Awareness, Advanced Stress Management, wellbeing and Nutrition.

These qualifications ensure that I have the knowledge and skills required to work effectively with you. I also hold Professional Memberships covering relevant aspects of health and wellbeing.
